Position Summary
The Financial System Manager will independently provide strategic guidance to department leadership on scope and feasibility of revenue cycle projects, while also completing deliverables on time and consistent with project scope. This position is responsible for data mining and analytics to support the Revenue Cycle Management department. The Manager will manage the assimilate of data from multiple systems/sources and assist with analysis and interpretation of complex datasets using qualitative and quantitative methods. The Manager will aid in the automation, development, implementation, maintenance, and delivery of revenue cycle reports, dashboards and reporting packages to the revenue cycle teams.
The Manager position will be self-directed, driven, and outcomes minded. Provide solutions that drives the successful implementation of technology workflows and adoption that will lead to measurable achieved value. The Manager will collaborate with other revenue cycle leadership to promote the growth and success of the organization and provide support.
Responsibilities
1. Work to enhance the utilization of existing reporting tools and develop new tools to aid the organization in recognizing and maximizing revenue and reimbursement opportunities.
2. Provide data driven insights and actionable information to drive improvement, increase efficiency, and implement best practices.
3. Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to develop monthly revenue reporting.
4. Model and track impact of payor contracts; model and track impact of charge master updates; create recommendations and provide insight into potential changes.
5. Analyze variances to compare actual to expected reimbursement, and benchmarking.
6. Prepare, interpret and analyze financial data, business metrics, and report on KPI.
7. Gather operational and workflow requirements to document, implement and monitor workflow processes.
8. Ability to understand operational business processes and build technology and reports to track key performance indicators, model changes in key variables and analysis that impact on revenue.
9. Prepare financial and statistical reports and monitor trends and variances.
10. Analyze data for reasonableness and integrity.
11. Create dashboards with RCM, operations, clinical and financial reporting.
12. Complete special projects and provide support as requested.
13. Oversee development of standard and ad-hoc reports
14. Manage and oversee payor web portal access.
15. Design, validation, implementation, and maintenance of Revenue Cycle logic within Epic workqueues.
16. Identify risks and issues, develop, implement, and measure interventions.
17. Serve as a liaison between the revenue cycle department and internal stakeholders, external auditors, and third-party payers to resolve system issues.
18. Lead and/or participate in all performance improvement projects for the revenue cycle as assigned and identified.
19. Develop, populate, distribute and monitor periodic performance metrics for all appropriate revenue cycle areas.
20. Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates and develops subordinate management staff in accordance with defined policies and objectives.
21. Manages retention rates.
Skill Set Requirement:
Knowledge of third-party application integrations (supply chain, transcription, productivity tools, general ledger, and other revenue cycle management vendors)
Skilled in gathering and documenting user requirements, performing design/build.
Writing/executing test scripts and performing ongoing maintenance and support.
Skills supporting Epic module implementations, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and Power BI on a routine basis and will need to be an advanced user of these products.
Time management
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple, complex projects with high quality results.
Understanding of Medical terms and acronyms
Reasoning skills and ability to articulate logic behind decisions.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal that present clear and concise information to a diverse audience.
Appreciation of timeliness with resolving issues and determining priorities.
Strong planning and delegation skills including ability to develop and cross-train staff.
Solid understanding of Epic and Epic business tools
Minimum Requirements
Required Education/Course(s)/Training:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics and/or
15+ years related work experience.
3+ years in leadership role related Revenue Cycle financial reporting and analysis in a multi-facility/practice healthcare system
5 + years of experience in hospital/physician billing for in and out-of-network facilities utilizing EPIC.
Required Certification/Registration
EPIC Resolute certification
Preferred Requirements
Master's Degree and/or 15+ years related work experience.
Epic PB/HB Resolute, Cadence and Prelude certification
