WHAT WE NEED:
Mid-Level Civil/Structural Designer
The Mid-Level Civil/Structural Designer is responsible for creating detailed designs, drawings, and other components for civil and structural engineering projects. This role requires collaboration with engineers, project managers, design coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations. The Mid-Level Civil/Structural Designer will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the project team to develop innovative and efficient civil and structural designs for various projects, including buildings, bridges, infrastructure, and other related structures.
- Create accurate and detailed technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant design tools.
- Ensure designs follow applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Identify issues and recommend effective solutions to resolve problems or optimize existing designs.
- Review and check designs for accuracy, completeness, quality, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, safety standards and regulations throughout the design process.
- Keep abreast of industry advancements, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in the field of civil/structural engineering.
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to construction queries, reviewing shop drawings, and conducting site visits as required.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure smooth coordination and integration of respective discipline design elements within the overall project design.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, including drawings, test reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and project records.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports and presentations to communicate findings, project progress, performance, and any process related concerns and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Participate in the development and implementation of engineering standards, best practices, and quality control procedures.
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to provide guidance, support, and technical expertise.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and design methodologies to enhance skills, design capabilities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of design practices.
WHO WE NEED:
- An associate degree or diploma in design, engineering technology, drafting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD (e.g. AutoCAD), design software, and 3D modeling.
- Strong knowledge of design engineering principles, codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental considerations in designs.
- 5-8 years of experience as a designer or in a similar role, preferably in a consulting or engineering firm.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
