JobDutiesandResponsibilities(EssentialFunctions) |
·Ideal candidate will have 5+ years designing, or capable of designing, mechanical structures and bussing for LV and MV switchgear assemblies, developing and implementing engineering standards, complyingwithapplicablecodesandcustomerspecificationswithinaprojectmanagementstructureto ensure workflow remains within schedule and budget requirements. ·Reviewandinterpretcustomerspecificationsandsalesagreementsandreceivedirectionfrom mentors to create designs. ·Experienceusing3DmodelingsoftwaresuchasAutoCAD,PDMandSolidWorksmechanicaltools and libraries. ·Improvethedesignprocessusingstandardizedpractices,toolsandsystems,improvethequalityand productivity of the design and support process while reducing schedule and budget. ·Evaluateandselectmechanicalcomponentsandfabricationpartsforbussingsystems,switchgear, panelboards and control panels. ·Maintainaworkingknowledgeofourfactoryequipment,itscapabilitiesandperformancecriteria, including forming, punching, welding, milling, coating and finishing. ·Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design and quality problems,andpursuecontinuousimprovementofdesignandmanufacturingandinstallationprocesses and methods. ·Attendtraining,reviewdocumentation,proceduresandworkinstructionsrelatedtomentorshipand growth of technical competencies within the engineering team. ·Supportnewproductdevelopmentinitiativesbyremaininguptodatewithnewindustryproducts, technologies and trends. ·PreserveandgrowstrongrelationshipswithStatesMfgsuppliers,manufacturersandvendors. ·Provideonsitetechnicalfieldsupportwithupto10%localregionaldaytripstocustomersand suppliers, including a small number of occasional domestic trips. ·Followallhousekeepingproceduresandrules,complywithallqualityandsafetyregulations. ·Abletostandorsitforextendedperiodsoftime,andsafelylift40 lbs. |
RequiredSkillsandExperience(Minimumrequirementsintermsofeducationalbackground,workexperience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities). |
·Experiencedesigningmulti-phaseandDCswitchgear,switchboards,panelboardsinaccordancewith customer’s functional requirements for LV and MV equipment. ·Supportproductassembly,manufacturing,testingandfieldservice. ·Provideprojectcoordinationandmanagementforcustomerorders. ·Supportthecreationofproductandprojectquotes. ·Establishandmaintaininternal,customer,andsupplierrelationships. ·ExperienceusingMicrosoftOfficeproducts,includingOutlook,Excel,Word,PowerPoint. ·ExperienceusingPDM,SolidWorks,AutoCADorother3Ddesigntools. |
·ExperienceusingmechanicaltestequipmentrelatedtoLVandMVproductfabrication,structuresand manufacturing processes. |

·BSinrelevantengineeringdiscipline. ·Experienceinsheetmetaldesign,fabrication,machinedesign,GD&T,weldingandcoatings. ·5+yearsofengineeringexperience. ·Specifyanddesignstructuresandbussingrelatedtoelectricalpowerequipment. ·Understandanddevelopcompetenciesacrosselectrical,mechanicalandsoftwaredesignand commissioning functions. ·Mustbeself-motivated,havegoodinterpersonalskills,capableofanalyzingandsolvingcomplex problems through collaboration, innovative thought and experience. ·ExperiencewithAutoCAD,SolidWorksPDMorother3DCADdesigntoolsrequired. ·Experiencerelatedtorenewables,emergingenergymarkets,datacenters,batterysystems,stored energy and charging stations a plus. |
