JOB SUMMARY
The Milling Machinist Specialist will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
This position is for 2nd shift
The shift is from Monday through Friday from 3:00pm to 11:30pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Machines parts to specifications for milling machine – HAAS VF5.
Program, set up, adjust, and operate specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines.
Measures, examines, and tests completed units to check for defects and ensures conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, indicators & thread gauges.
Write and program CNC G-code for milling machine operations.
Ability to read, interpret & understand drawings/blueprints with geometric tolerances.
Document first article inspections (FAI).
Experience and understanding of manual lathes and mills.
Experience and understanding of ProtoTRAK is a plus.
Perform routine maintenance on the machine.
Ability to cross train to use an Okuma ESL10 & SmartCut lathes.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
4-5 years programing, setting up, and running CNC milling machines.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience using a variety of measuring equipment.
Mastercam, Okuma, or Haas certification is a plus.
