About the Job
JOB GOAL: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, responsible, and productive citizens.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Observation and Individualized Instruction
- Carefully monitor each child’s development, interests, and readiness for new challenges.
- Provide individualized support and adjust materials to align with each child’s progress and curiosity.
Fostering Independence and Social Skills
- Encourage self-discipline, independence, and mutual respect.
- Promote social development through community-building activities and cooperative play.
Developmental Milestone Monitoring
- Track cognitive, physical, social, and emotional milestones.
- Regularly assess each child’s progress and document it for parents and administrative records.
Family Collaboration
- Maintain open communication with parents, informing them of progress and concerns.
- Hold parent-teacher conferences to discuss developmental goals and individual progress.
Professional Development
- Stay current with Montessori and early childhood education practices.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Highly qualified with the required competency in the content area and
- Appropriate content/ program area license (Early Childhood: Teacher of Students With and Without Disabilities or Early Childhood, Prek-2), licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; and
- Bachelor’s Degree with appropriate license; or
- Master’s Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.
- Montessori certification for ages 3-6 (AMI or AMS preferred) and experience in early childhood or Montessori settings.
