Who are you:
The Mortgage Loan Officer Team Lead is responsible for supervising and guiding a team of mortgage loan officers, driving sales performance, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The Team Lead will focus on providing support and training to loan officers, optimizing the customer experience, and achieving team goals. This role also involves handling high-level client interactions, coordinating loan processing, and maintaining relationships with real estate agents, clients, and financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management & Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support a team of mortgage loan officers to ensure they meet individual and team performance goals. Conduct regular coaching, performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
- Sales Performance: Drive loan origination efforts by monitoring loan officer performance, identifying opportunities for growth, and implementing strategies to increase loan production.
- Customer Service: Ensure loan officers provide excellent customer service by guiding clients through the loan application process, answering inquiries, and resolving any issues.
- Loan Processing Oversight: Work closely with the loan processing and underwriting teams to ensure timely and efficient processing of mortgage loans. Address escalated issues and ensure all documentation and compliance requirements are met.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all loans originated by the team comply with state and federal regulations, including FHA, VA, and conventional loan standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in lending laws and policies.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with real estate agents, brokers, builders, and other referral sources to generate new business opportunities.
- Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and support to loan officers, keeping them informed of industry trends, new regulations, and company policies. Assist in onboarding new team members.
- Pipeline Management: Monitor and manage the loan pipeline, ensuring loan officers are meeting deadlines and closing loans within the designated time frame.
- Reporting & Analytics: Prepare reports for senior management on team performance, loan volumes, and pipeline activity. Identify trends and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license in the state of Florida is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a mortgage loan officer.
- Previous leadership or management experience in a mortgage environment is preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding loan origination targets.

- Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with mortgage loan origination software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Compensation:
- Base Salary: Competitive base salary plus commission
- Commission/Bonuses: Performance-based bonuses or commission on team loan volume.
