Position Purpose
The Mortgage Loan Originator plays a crucial role in upholding Vibe Credit Union's purpose. They are tasked with conducting loan applications with integrity and honesty, ensuring that members receive the best internal and external service possible.
Essential Duties
- Adheres to all Mortgage Compliance and Financial Institution regulatory procedures and policies.
- Possess knowledge of the entire mortgage process, including familiarity with credit reports, appraisals, titles and title insurance documentation.
- Interviews, takes applications and processes preliminary documentation on loan requests accurately and thoroughly.
- Discusses loan alternatives, credit criteria, and interest rates with members.
- Conveys underwriting findings and recommendations to members.
- Advising members on loan approval or denial, providing precise and clear explanations for loan denials, counseling declined members on the necessary steps to potentially qualify for a mortgage in the future, and offering guidance on money management and financial matters.
- Complete weekly follow-up with all loan applications in process.

Education/Experience
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Three (3) years experience
