Job Description:
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a talented Multimedia/Graphic Designer to join the Office of Communications (OCOM) team. The Multimedia/Graphic Designer will provide advanced, professional graphic design services, produce high-end visual, textual, and animated content for a variety of platforms (print publications, web pages, social media, etc.) and ensure the brand identity standards of the Department are met. Additionally, they will work to maintain the DHHS Forms website and coordinate orders with the State Print Shop.

Examples of Work
The Multimedia/Graphic Designer will:
Minimum Qualifications: Vocational/Technical diploma or Associates Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field and at least one year of experience in conducting public relations, information, or graphic art activities. Required experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator); Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); SharePoint; social media; web design; compliance for visually impaired. Skilled in: creating original artwork, effective communication, including communication with internal and external customers; coordinating with print shops; identifying creative solutions; managing multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.

Examples of Work
The Multimedia/Graphic Designer will:
- Meet with stakeholders to determine the project scope develop artwork based on internal client needs and specifications to provide creative and high-quality engaging materials.
- Conduct research on media techniques and design ideas.
- Develop multimedia content ideas.
- Projects will include booklets, brochures, flyers, ad campaigns, banners, invitations, programs, and templates such as PowerPoint, social media, web design print, digital and animated content and more.
Minimum Qualifications: Vocational/Technical diploma or Associates Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field and at least one year of experience in conducting public relations, information, or graphic art activities. Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic design/art, journalism, printing, photography or related fields and a minimum of 2-5 years' experience working in a related field.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), and Canva.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating advanced visual design and layout skills as well as advanced design techniques.
- Artistic with a keen eye for aesthetics and visually appealing content.
- Excellent knowledge of storyboarding, visual design principals, and animation.
- Must have excellent customer service, communication, organization, time management and collaboration skills, an ability to meet deadlines, and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of web publishing software and recording, editing, and encoding audio files.
- Ability to learn printing and finishing software, equipment, and technique.
