Salary starting at $75,000 annually

San Luis Garbage, a Waste Connections Company, is currently hiring for a Marketing and Outreach Coordinator.
The Outreach Coordinator supports the community through waste reduction education and outreach programs including: business and food waste, construction and demolition, single and multi-family residence outreach, schools, and community events.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Represent Waste Connections in community and with government entities, attending meetings and other events as required
+ Represent Waste Connections as a member of stakeholder groups developing regulations.
+ Manage and respond to community concerns
+ Interface with planning department and Public Works Department and ensure successful partnership
+ Monitor and analyze local and regional government policies, regulations and legislation related to waste management, recycling and sustainability initiatives.
+ Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, regulators, customers, and community organizations.
+ Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues related to waste management, recycling and sustainability.
+ Prepare ad hoc reports for leadership and regulatory authorities
+ In collaboration with the leadership team, evaluate, coordinate, and administer the outreach goals for the district, which includes social media, websites, and promotional media
+ Ability to present outreach messages to large and small groups.
Qualifications:
+ Demonstrated knowledge and passion for working with local recycling and waste reductionresources.
+ Develops, plans, coordinate, administers and evaluates the marketing and outreach goals for the district, which includes social media, websites, and promotional media.
+ Intermediate skills in word processing and graphics software including: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Photoshop.
+ Ability to conduct complex interpersonal interactions with others, trouble-shoot, solve problems, make decisions, operate independently and with discretion, and work effectively under pressure and with self-motivation.
+ Proficiency to determine financial needs for marketing and outreach campaigns to allow for proper forecasting on budget preparations.
+ Must have efficient and organized work habits, and be flexible to handle needs as they arise.
+ The successful individual for this role will be able to change direction quickly, work on multiple deadlines simultaneously and prioritize amongst many different projects, both on a daily basis and projects with long term completion goals.
+ Ability to work with various City/County leadership teams along with occasional elected officials
+ Experience giving presentations to large and small groups.
+ Aptitude to comprehend contracts along with providing contract support and reporting compliance.
+ Demonstrated experience working through projects with little supervision from start to finish.
Logistics:
• Typical 40 hour work-week
• Occasional evening and weekend work is required
