Overview
The Music Therapist I provides mental health services to students with multiple disabilities in a full day classroom setting. The Music Therapist uses music as a medium to assist students in meeting defined educational goals and objectives. Music therapy is specially designed to address the behavioral, psycho-social, emotional, communicative, physiological, sensory-motor, and cognitive needs of students.

Qualifications
- *Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by KKI.
- *Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities.
EDUCATION:
- B.A. Music Therapy and/or B.A. in similar field with equivalency in Music Therapy
- Music Therapist Board Certified (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT) or eligible for the Board Certification Exam. Certification must be obtained within six months of date of hire and maintained, thereafter.
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in music therapy is preferred.
