This exceptional Medical Center in the San Francisco Area is actively searching for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join its Education Department and lead clinical support programs in an extensive Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The NICU CNS will help contribute to the success of this hospital by supporting education and nursing practice for a facility that’s earned national recognition for superior Heart Care, Outstanding Patient Experience, and a High-Acuity Neonatal and Pediatric Critical Care Services.
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Education and Nursing Practice, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will focus primarily on improving clinical practice in a large Neonatal Intensive Care Services Department. Working in close collaboration with the Service Line Director of Women’s and Children’s Services, as well as an RNC-NIC Neonatal NICU Unit Manager, the Postpartum (Mother/Baby) Manager, and the RNC-OB Labor and Delivery Nursing Manager, the CNS will play an integral role in supporting education and patient care.
The NICU at this fantastic hospital has a reputation for providing great patient care and parent support. This 20+ bed Neonatal ICU is staffed by Neonatologists around the clock and is prepared for a wide array of care situation. The Neonatal CNS will step into a beautiful, sunlit unit filled with cutting-edge technology and an outstanding staff or experienced NICU RNs, Respiratory Therapists, Neonatologists, and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will work in conjunction with Education Specialists throughout this Acute Care Medical Center to develop, implement, and evaluate educational materials especially as they relate to Neonatal Intensive Care Services. In this, the NICU CNS will promote an avid dedication to evidence-based best practices, consistent focus on superior patient-centered care, and a valuable resource for Nursing Leadership.
A successful NICU Clinical Nurse Specialist will be a proven collaborator, and able to work with educators from across the hospital and organization in developing and leading clinical initiatives. This Medical Center is looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist who loves to loves to learn, teach, and continue growing. You’ll spearhead the development of educational materials and initiatives for the unit, hospital, and the community. You’ll get the chance to serve on performance and educational improvement committees as well, ensuring that the medical center is doing all it can to meet the needs of an ever changing healthcare environment.
