The HSC IT department is responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining the institution’s network infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity across all campuses, data centers, and remote locations. Position Overview
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing network automation solutions to streamline operations and improve the efficiency of our network and telecom systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, devices, and architectures (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routers, switches).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with enterprise network management systems (e.g., Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix) and monitoring tools.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data from network management systems to troubleshoot and optimize network performance.

Job Duties:
- Design and implement network automation solutions using tools and technologies such as Python, Ansible, API's, and other relevant scripting languages and techniques.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks to manage network devices, configurations, and deployments.
- Collaborate with the network, telecom, and systems teams to identify automation opportunities and requirements.
- Provide training and support to team members on automation tools and best practices.
- Manage and maintain enterprise management systems, including monitoring tools, alerting systems, and performance management platforms.
- Analyze and interpret data from enterprise management systems to proactively identify and address potential network or telecom issues.
Work Schedule:
8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday and weekends as needed.
