Network Engineer at Presidio

Presidio is hiring a contract Network Engineer for their client in Brunswick, GA. This is an onsite role. (6-month contract)

Presidio is seeking a skilled Network Engineer with 5-7 years of hands-on experience in network troubleshooting, maintenance, and foundational network design. This person will work on-site supporting a healthcare client. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of network fundamentals, routing, and switching. This role will primarily focus on troubleshooting network issues, ensuring network reliability, and supporting the development and maintenance of network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues efficiently to minimize downtime. Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues.
• Network Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor network performance and identify potential areas for improvement. Proactively optimize network configurations to enhance performance and reliability.
• Network Maintenance: Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices. Perform regular software updates and patching as required.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures. Generate regular performance reports.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other IT teams and stakeholders to address network-related needs and provide technical support.
• Network Foundation Support: Assist in the design, implementation, and support of foundational network structures (LAN/WAN, VLANs, subnets) and ensure secure connectivity across different environments.
• Compliance & Security: Ensure all network systems comply with company policies, industry standards, and security best practices. Support security teams in identifying and addressing vulnerabilities.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5-7 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong emphasis on troubleshooting and foundational networking principles.
• Certifications: CCNA or CCNP certification (preferred).
