SUMMARY
As a member of the Core Infrastructure Services team, the IT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEERING, Network Engineer will works with more senior engineers on various functional areas such as gathering requirements, implementing, and supporting Network Services, Operations, Engineering, and Delivery. This role will be required to work globally with diverse resources internally and externally through third party vendors. Have the ability to install, operate and troubleshoot networks. This role requires a foundation level of networking certification.
Essential ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assist Senior Network Engineers in the implementation of new network technologies into current operational environment.
• Document and follow standards and best practices for network system testing and implementation methodology.
• Handle daily tier one support from end users and generate tickets.
• Organize daily support tickets and finish them on time.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis to network equipment.
• Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
• Assist Senior Network Engineers and the Director to design and test system architecture and software packages.
• Follow procedure to maintain user accounts per request.
• Perform daily routine checking on servers and services.
• Take on call role to provide 24/7 support to end users.
• Assist Senior Network Engineers and the Director to design and test system architecture and software packages.
• Configure, deploy, monitor, maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, support, and repair network systems as required.
• Document the global network environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Travel: Domestic, up to 25%
Education: Degree preferred in a related discipline, such as Computer Information Systems or Network Engineering.
Licenses / Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is preferred, Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) is required.
Competencies: Global WANs, multi-site LANs, MS Systems, Active Directory, Server Platform, communications skills, teamwork, and excellent technical acumen required.
Preferred REQUIRED SKILLS
• 5-plus years of direct engineering, deployment experience, and support for networks
• Experience with working with 3rd party vendors.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented.
• Must be able to handle pressure and work with multiple vendors / outsourcers to resolve complex network and technical issues.
PREFERRED:
• Professional background with system management and monitoring tools (i.e. Solarwinds, Cisco Prime, CA, etc.).
• Experience supporting Problem Management initiatives on Windows and production systems/applications on various networking technologies.
• Knowledge with Microsoft Windows AD environment.
• Good working knowledge of routing protocols, network switching and VPN technologies
DESIRABLE:
• Experience with SIP (design, deployment, best practices, & topology).
• Experience with MPLS (design, deployment, best practices, & topology).
• Experience with Cisco Networking technologies.
• Experience with F5 load balancers.
• Experience with Software Defined Networks (SDN) especially SD-WANs.
• Experience with stringent change control processes and ITIL foundations.
• Strong documentation and communication skills. Must be able to articulate technical details with multiple levels of the organization, including non-technical groups.
