About the Job
The Network Engineer provides network and wireless design inputs for the creation and review of necessary documents, utilizing Juniper MIST Assurance, Ekahau, VISIO, PDF files, Installation Guides and diagrams for the purpose of building a patient monitoring infrastructure. Will work with project management, sales, field technicians, design teams and customer IT personnel to ensure approved standards, processes are followed, and priorities are properly aligned.
Essential Functions and Main Duties
- Responsible for the creation of the network and/or wireless system design documents for each planned installation within the Nihon Kohen medical device product platform
- Performs site walk-throughs to produce heat maps and/or network infrastructure assessments
- ability to develop reports identifying customer needs and NK equipment best practices, this includes identifying power needs, rack space, correct fiber connectors and how to integrate into a customer’s layer 2/3 environment
- Reviews all installation orders and posts all documents related to each order on the company’s internal repository
- Orders necessary installation supplies for each install planned
- Develops network and access point system designs
- Develops design documents for presentation to medical device customers
- Designs documents including, but not limited to the following:
- Ekahau heat maps using CAD based floor plans, to include channel usage, wireless authentication configuration
- Network topology diagram
- Network Switches and cabling needs
- Network Switch Configurations
- Creating new ORGs, establishing notification policies and reviewing remote logs as a troubleshooting tool
- Designs documents including, but not limited to the following:
- Reviews work, addresses questions, and assists with all aspects of configuration and installation
- Ability to speak to C-Level and peer client IT resources and explain the value of NKs wireless/wired solutions
- Creates test and implementation plans communicating clear transition and/or cut-over downtime to project team and customers
- Ability to manage projects within assigned region, following up with customers to ensure site prerequisites are addressed and install dates can be identified. Must be clearly focused on maintaining efficient cycle times.
- Extensive travel to complete installations at customer sites
- Provides remote support to existing customer during non-travel periods
- Provides support to cross-functional teams to address customer issues
- Performs site walk-throughs to produce heat maps and/or network infrastructure assessments
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional working relations with employees and customers
- Resolves questions, requests, and problems promptly and courteously
- Maintains the Company's professional reputation

- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time based on business need.
Compensation
The anticipated range for this position is $55,000 to $81,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, experience and location.

Qualifications
Education / Certification / Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline; relevant education and experience accepted in lieu of degree
- Associate level network certification in area of focus
- 3+ years of experience in network/wireless planning, design and configuration
- Extensive knowledge of deploying network and wireless equipment
- Previous project management experience preferred
- Salesforce experience preferred
- Juniper MIST experienced preferred
- Level and compensation depend on location, experience, education and skills

Working Conditions
Schedule: The regular hours for this full-time position are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, unless otherwise stated by the department manager. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or department and are subject to change at any time at the Company's discretion. The primary working environment will be a home office with up to 80% of time in customer/hospital site facilities
Physical: Generally may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, and color vision. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested.
Travel: Approximately 80%
Access to Customer Sites: It is an essential function of this position to perform duties in healthcare facilities, and to achieve the necessary vendor credentialing. As part of this process, it is typically required to provide proof of vaccinations (including for COVID-19), and related personal medical information, and to comply with other criteria as needed to be able to work at customer sites. Typical vendor credentialing expenses will be paid/reimbursed by the Company.
