We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Integration Engineer to join our team in APG, MD.
Provide technical and organizational support to the Army Program Executive Office (PEO) Combat Support and Combat Service Support (CS&CSS) to coordinate and ensure alignment of efforts by subordinate organizations (platform Project Manager offices and Product Manager offices) to integrate and field a wide variety of tactical communications network (C5ISR) systems.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serve in a customer-facing role to assist the PEO Network Integration lead at overseeing and managing efforts pertaining to the integration and fielding of a wide variety of C5ISR systems onto all platforms within the PEO portfolio.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for C5ISR systems and their application to the platforms within the PEO portfolio. It is suitable if the candidate does not currently know C5ISR system, but the candidate would be expected to gain familiarity with the common C5ISR systems throughout the course of their time in this role.
- Interface with other PM Offices and other PEOs to maintain an awareness of the status of current and future technologies that will pertain to the PEO CS&CSS portfolio.
- Coordinate data calls and taskers related to C5ISR amongst the subordinate organizations within the PEO. Compile feedback and provide consolidated responses on behalf of PEO CS&CSS.
- Partner with PM engineers to synchronize schedules and funding required to field C5ISR technologies to the PEO platforms.
- Ensure understanding of the PEO CS&CSS customer needs and implement strategies to provide optimal support to the customer.
- Maintain a detailed document library for PEO staff.
- Lead recurring meetings on behalf of the PEO CS&CSS Network Integration team.
- Participate in meetings within the PEO and with outside organizations. Take meeting notes and relay relevant information to stakeholders.
- Participate in the development of C5ISR system requirements. Solicit subordinate organizations within the PEO for their review of and input for requirements pertaining to various C5ISR systems.
Required Skills:
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and at least 5 years of engineering experience.
- Able to perform tasks independently based on initial guidance.
- Ability to converse and understand technical matters and to be able to communicate technical matters to non-technical leadership.
- Professional written and verbal communications skills.
- Professional demeanor, etiquette and personal presentation suited for a customer-facing role.
- Able to take leadership over tasks and exercise a healthy assertiveness as needed to solicit broad stakeholder involvement and to drive tasks to completion.
- An affinity for thinking with a big-picture perspective and for foreseeing how small changes to requirements and schedule can have significant impacts on a larger scale.
- Systems engineering experience with projects that requires consideration of multiple factors relating to different engineering specializations – such as mechanical, electrical, software, thermal, human factors, etc.
- An ability to quickly become familiar with C5ISR technologies and their application to military vehicles.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and at least eight years of engineering experience.
- Experience working within, or closely with, a Department of Defense program office.
- Knowledgeable about C5ISR systems and current trends in the development of C5ISR technologies.
- A familiarity with DoD acquisition organizational structure, culture and processes gained from military service or civilian/contractor employment in a DoD acquisition organization.
- Thorough understanding of DoD Acquisition process and related requirements documents.
- Familiarity with DoD contracts and contract deliverables.
- Experience serving in the DoD in a capacity that provided hands-on familiarity with C5ISR technologies, in roles such as 25U, 25S or S6.
