Network Technician - Tandym

About the Job
A recognized services company in Virginia is currently seeking a new Network Technician to join their growing team.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain a production environment, including routers, switches, load balancers, remote VPN, proxies, DNS, DHCP, NTP and IPAM
- Administer network management tools, including configuration, implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and management of system baselines
- Plan and execute Network/Security changes and ensure performance and security are maintained
- Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain hardware and software for network services, storage and network devices, and server systems
- Implement required hardware upgrades and repair inoperative devices to maintain mission capability
- Install, terminate, reroute, and test copper and fiber optic cabling associated with off-site locations
- Complete all required installation documentation and will be knowledgeable in network cable installation techniques and labeling schemes
- Maintain network communication closets and equipment racks to include cabling and elevation drawings
- Work with the Engineering team to understand changes and provide input as required
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience supporting Enterprise Network environment
- Amazon Web Services knowledge
- Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies, and network infrastructure
- Knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MP-BGP, IS-IS)
- Knowledge of MPLS, Layer2 VPN, Layer3 VPN
- Working knowledge of Security Practices (Audits, planning, design, implementation, testing, and management) LAN/WAN/MAN inter-networking technology
- Experience with the installation, configuration, integration and management of routers, switches, load balancers, proxies, etc.
- Knowledge and skills in the fundamentals of IP and core IP technologies
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
