UofL Health is investing in the health of Bullitt County, and the surrounding area with an expansion of UofL Health – Medical Center South to become an inpatient hospital – UofL Health – South Hospital. South Hospital is expected to open in early 2024 and will add approximately 100,000 square feet of new space to the existing facility. South Hospital will include a 10-bed intensive care unit, medical/surgical patient rooms, six operating rooms, new cardiac catheterization lab, expanded emergency department, centralized sterile processing area, laboratory, pharmacy, cardiopulmonary, respiratory therapy and more.
The purpose of this role is to provide high quality electroencephalogram, or EEG, studies on patients throughout the hospital including, but not limited to, EMU, ICU and outpatients as requested. The role also requires the ability to monitor long-term EEGs (ICU and/or EMU) for abnormal activity and to take immediate steps to notify appropriate parties of the findings per hospital policy. The technician has a thorough knowledge and proficiency of his/her job and strives to provide the highest quality of patient/testing/care. The technologist is proficient in the care and diagnostic testing of Neonatal, (birth to discharge), Adolescents (12 - 17 years), Adult (18 - 65 years), Geriatric (66 years and older). The technician presents a pleasing professional manner to the patient, staff and visitors and maintains an open communication with the department and staff physicians. The technician supports and contributes to the department and hospital objectives/mission while adhering to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The technician will assist the Supervisor/Department Director with the orientation/training of new employees. The technician will continually strive for personal improvement and keep abreast of the changing modalities within the field. The technician will assist with administrative and secretarial duties as necessary.
Qualifications:Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):
Required: HSD, BLS
Preferred: Associate's degree in science or health related field. ABRET certification for registered EEG Tech
