Neurodiagnostics Supervisor - University Health System- San Antonio

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITY

Supervises the administrative and technical activities of a work shift of the Neurodiagnostic Center (NDC). Ensures the quality, efficiency and safety in the performance of all EEG/EMU Laboratory services performed within University Hospital. Promotes University Health’s guest relations policy. Ensures departmental policies and procedures are followed. Coordinates with scheduling staff to ensure outpatient and EMU schedules are in alignment with scheduled staff resources. With the Assistant Director, ensures training or orientation of staff members and students is progressing or completed. Interacts with UTHSCSA, UMA and UH staff to settle issues and ensure department is meeting the needs of its customers. Upholds Safety and Infection Control standards and policies within the department. Provides competent technical skills in the operation of equipment used to record electroencephalograms and other associated specialized EEG procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

An Associate’s Degree is required. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing EEG procedures in a hospital or clinical setting is required. Two (2) years’ experience working in an EMU is required. One (1) year supervisory experience is preferred. One (1) year experience of neurosurgery support is preferred. Completion of an accredited electroneurodiagnostic (END) school or a military END training program is preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card. The R.EEG.T credential is preferred.
