Adjunct Instructor – Business Communications

The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University seeks an outstanding business communications practitioner with teaching experience who will contribute to the teaching needs of the department in its pursuit of excellence. Reporting to the Data Analytics and Information Systems (DAIS) course coordinator, the successful candidate will teach one or more business communications courses salient to organizations worldwide. This is a semester-by-semester, part-time, non-benefited adjunct position with an anticipated start date of August 2023.
Responsibilities:- Teaching Huntsman School of Business undergraduate courses in business communications as assigned by the department head.
- Developing and articulating a solid teaching philosophy that is consistent with excellence in business communications teaching, advising, and mentoring.
- Actively collaborating with the course cohort and participating in undergraduate curricula development activities. This work includes participating in the continuous assessment and improvement processes of the Huntsman School of Business and the DAIS Department.
Applicants should meet the following qualifications:
- Graduate degree in a field related to business communications (preferred)
- Evidence of teaching excellence
- Evidence of business communication knowledge and professional experience
- Highly effective communication skills, including listening, writing, and speaking
- Demonstration of collegiality among peers and constituents
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional or technical writing and editing experience
- Professional development and experience in a related business field such as marketing, public relations, human resources, international business, advertising, corporate training, instructional technology, etc.
