Nurse Education Manager - Gpac

Gpac (Growing People & Companies www.gogpac.com) is a national search firm. We have been retained by a Milwaukee senior living and health services facility to search for a Nurse Education Manager.

Overview

This senior living facility is seeking a nurse experienced in leadership and education to join their team. Your role will be to educate, manage, and direct the nursing care education of all nursing employees. You will be responsible in a Nurse manager capacity with a staff focus, assisting in assigned resident care, participating as needed in assessments, and overseeing audits and new employee orientation. As a member of the Nursing department, you will work with fellow Nurse Managers, RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, and report to the Director of Nursing

What You Will Do

• Curriculum design and development, and keeping up to date with requirements
• Teach practicing nurses through presentations, return demonstrations of employee education, demonstrations, and practical exercises
• Keep detailed documentation of staff education, and evaluate the progress and performance of employees’ clinical abilities
• Oversee and guide employees during their clinical training for new hires, monthly trainings, etc.
• Attend stand up, stand down meetings, and staff focused meetings.
• Champion transfer mobility coach, and champion mentor program
• TB testing and fit testing
• POC for clinical nursing students
• One week a month Nurse on Call rotation
• Staff performance management and remediation education
• Stay current with advancements in nursing practice by staying on top of regulatory changes and best practices. Integrate new knowledge into teaching practices
• Work with other healthcare professionals and educators to enhance the quality of education and address any interdisciplinary issues that arise
• Assist in direct resident care as necessary and administer medications
• Supervise and direct CNAs in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act
• Assist with clinical needs as needed
• Oversee and assist with admissions
• Provide leadership and communication to the nursing team

What You Will Bring

• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience and proven nurse leadership experience.
• Active RN or LPN license through the state of WI required
• Excellent Communication skills, strong work and empathy and compassion
• Strong leadership skills and management and organizational skills
• Experience with interviewing and onboarding
• Performance Management skills
• Ability to document care given
• Previous experience in nurse education
• Working knowledge of current clinical procedures and protocols
• Clinical nursing experience in Long Term Care
• CPR certified

Salary: Starting at $85,000 (will be based on experience.)

Bonus: Sign-on bonus starting at $3,000

Location/Schedule: Full Time Onsite. Monday – Friday/9:00 am – 6:00 pm with a nurse on call rotation (1 week a month)
