Nurse Practitioner - Outpatient Clinic - Tanner Healthcare for Children - Tanner Health System

Job Summary

Tanner Health System is recruiting a full-time APP (Pediatric Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant) to join the Tanner Healthcare for Children practice located in Villa Rica, GA. The APP will provide services through the performance of patient evaluation, assessment and treatment in the medical office setting as allowed by state licensure laws under the supervision of the medical director. The works closely with the clinic staff, hospital departments and community agencies.

Structure of position:

• Clinic Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8a – 4:30p (or until last patient seen);
• Practice is located in the Villa West Medical Office building adjacent to Tanner Medical Center – Villa Rica
• Must be willing to treat newborns to 18 years of age

• Tanner utilizes EPIC EMR system wide

Education           

• Completed Physician Assistant program in good standing or Master of Nursing with specialization in Nurse Practitioner

Experience

• Six months of related experience

Certification/License

• Currently hold or be able to obtain a Georgia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License
• Currently hold or be able to obtain a Board Certification as Nurse Practitioner   

Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events.
• ACLS recommended.
• Additional certification will be required for some specialties (i.e. ACLS, PALS)
• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Georgia
• Graduate of a recognized program for Nurse Practitioner (MSN) or Physician Assistant training.
• Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physicians
• Must maintain high degree of confidentiality.
• Must meet credentialing criteria.
• Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital and/or other physician.
