Nurse Practitioner Psychiatric at Allegany County Health Department

LOCATION: Behavioral Health

NATURE OF WORK:This position will conduct evaluations of patients in the Joseph S. Massie Unit to determine if psychiatric conditions are present and the appropriate treatment. This position involves evaluation, prescribing and management of medications to children, adolescents and adult patients of the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. This position will perform physical exams of adult patients in the Joseph S. Massie Unit as needed along with assessing their mental health. This position will order, perform and interpret lab work and provide guidance and instruction in health maintenance and disease prevention.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses under the certification requirements for Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric.

Experience: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses under the certification requirements for Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The preferred candidate should possess the following experience:

     -2 years’ experience working with dually diagnosed patients (mental health & addictions)

     -2 years’ experience working with children, adolescents and adults

     -Experience working with e-scribing medications

SALARY: Salary $121,493 -123,924, depending on experience
                       Full State of Maryland benefit package
