Responsibilities:
- Collects selective menus from patients, assists patients with menu selection as needed based on population specific nutrition concerns.
- Reviews menus and corrects according to diet orders.
- Corrects diabetic menus using carbohydrate counting method.
- Inputs menu selections, nourishments and other nutrition (food related) information into MedDietary computer system.
- Checks tray line to assure that food items selected are accurate and tray is appropriately presented. Assists with delivery of late trays.
- Assembles menus for meal service. Prints computerized tallies for production personnel.
- Distributes and collects Food Preference Questionnaires from new admissions. Distributes an appropriate alternate menu selection list as per diet ordered.
- Answers phone, records messages on phone log and performs related clerical duties.
Experience:
Previous Nutrition Clerk experience preferred.Must exhibit excellent telephone, clerical and interpersonal skills.Must be able to accurately calculate modified diets and update diet changes in a timely manner.Must enter data on computer.Should possess the initiative and the ability to set and achieve high standards of performance.Ability to make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing.Ability to learn specific job duties and complete detailed work assignments.
