Headquartered in Paterson, NJ, Straight and Narrow is the largest program of its kind. We provide innovative and compassionate services to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Residential/Outpatient Treatment Facilities and Community Programs.

Office Clerk (Temporary Full Time)

Schedule per week: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm

Location: Paterson, NJ

Job Responsibilities:

• Answer, screen and direct all telephone calls appropriately.
• Must function professionally, ethically and maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent computer skills for word processing, spreadsheet creation, power point presentations, etc.
• Excellent organizational skills for filing and performing data entry as required.
• Maintain files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible, both physical and electronic.
• Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail (envelopes, packages, etc.)
• Utilize office appliances such as photocopier, printers etc.
• Take minutes of meetings.
• Responsible for copying, scanning, binding of files as required
• Assist in office management and organization procedures.
• Assisting with preparation of documentation for meetings, State, Federal regulatory site visits, CQI Committee and related subcommittees, etc.
• Perform other office duties as assigned

Other Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Follow the policy for SN breaks

2.Complete all state (NJAC 8:42A-3.5: g: 1), CARF, Catholic Charities/Straight & Narrow annually required trainings for staff

3. Attend in-service and other trainings, staff meetings and supervisions as scheduled

4. Take responsibility for keeping Personnel file updated with regard to filing any new degrees or certificates, getting immunizations/medical tests as required and keeping any license

5. Be familiar with Straight & Narrow’s Policies and Procedures

6. Ensure that policy for Critical Incident Reporting is followed when indicated

7. Notify supervisor if unable to work due to sickness or personal emergency

8. Submit Employee Absence Report to supervisor on day of return to work after taking one or more sick day(s)

9. Punch in/out on the employee hand recognition time clock

10. Perform other tasks as necessary or as assigned by supervisory personnel or a member of Straight & Narrow’s administration

Requirements

Associate Degree, Good knowledge of Microsoft Programs, good organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities. Working Knowledge of office devices and processes and excellent communication skills. Experience Performing Administrative and clerical tasks. Associates degree preferred.
