Job Summary
Are you self-directed and have a strong drive to get results? If so, we invite you to pursue a position with our Operations team! The Operations Assistant will function inassisting Technicians with the preparation and execution of our line startup, changeover, and line processes. This position will have primary responsibility for performing the master sanitation functions, coordination of production materials, safety compliance, data collection,quality checks, maintaining 5S Visual Workplace, inventory, team problem solving, and overall production support. This position works within a structure that requires considerable interaction with co-workers throughout the facility and multiple functions.

15 | Assists with startup, changeovers, and line shut down of automated and manual equipment within your assigned area ofthe production facility |
15 | Performs Housekeeping activities as per master sanitation schedule, and conducts/participates in area housekeeping assessments as required to meet all GMP’s, FDA, regulatory and Corporate requirements |
15 | Assists with finished goods preparation and inspection; including top cap placement, inspection checklist, legible date codes, quality of bag seals, and packaging inventory/put away |
10 | Monitors and supports line operation during lunches, breaks or as needed |
10 | Removes and disposes of Production line waste according to Standard Operating Procedures |
10 | Cleans and sanitizes equipment throughout the production areas during operation |
5 | Supports packaging lines with staging of resources needed based on the production schedule including hand stacking of all bag sizes |
5 | Performs basic quality checks |
5 | Manages Dump back/Regrind/Reblend product movement |
5 | Attends the Shift Transition Meeting to understand current shift production schedule |
5 | Understands and follows Hill’s policies, safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety. Identifies and reports Food Safety issues to management. Completes assigned trainings, monthly eLearning and audits |

Education/ Experience Requirements
Basic qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Problem assessment and resolution.
- Basic digital literacy in MS Word and Excel or Google Workspace
- Basic understanding of mathematical calculations, weights and measurements
Preferred qualifications include:
Technical College/Vocational school certificate or an Associate’s Degree in related areas of manufacturing, Food safety experience, and forklift experience.
Areas of Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Complete understanding and adherence to all Quality, cGMP’s, AIB and Micro [C&S Guidelines], EHS, and safety standards and guidelines.
- The ability to give additional work hours when needed to meet business demand and ableto workany shift schedule is required, including nights and weekends.
- Effectively communicatewith other technicians, maintenance technicians, quality technicians, and member of management

- Able to thrivein a standard manufacturing environment:
- Ability to bend, climb, crawl, work in confined spaces, and work in hazardous condition spaces for an entire shift.
- Ability to push totes containing product up to 800 Ibs.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions with temperature ranges from cold to hot and humid
- Ability to use hazardous materials
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly to perform quality checks on product bags, clear jams and dump back product for rework. Consequences of not being able to lift these bags include having to scrap the materials rather than reworking the product in the production process, which could result in a financial impact
- Use a stand-up or sit-down forklift, intermittently for up to twelve hours per day
- Walk unlimited distances every single day.
- Frequently walk up and down multiple levels of steps, multiple times a day, up to 8.5 levels - carrying tool bag, materials, or other supplies that weigh 25 lbs. on average
- Occasionally climb ladders or ledges, with tie-off equipment when required
- Frequently bend at waist 90 degrees and flex at knees 120 degrees
- Wear required personal protective equipment, including hearing, eye, foot and dust protection.
- Perceive visual and audible alarms and radio while wearing hearing protection
- Receive and transmit information in person and by radio communications

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $ - $ USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:
