Operations Manager - FurstStaffing

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our distribution center ensuring that the team meets or exceeds KPI’s for inventory management, shipping, receiving, cost management and other warehouse operations.
What You’ll Do:

1. Ensure that inventory levels are accurate, and products are received, stored and shipped in a timely, accurate, efficient manner. 
2. Oversee and manage staff to ensure that they are properly trained, motivated and working in a safe and efficient manner.
3. Monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) such as productivity, quality and cost to ensure that the distribution center is meeting its goals and making improvements as needed.
4. Work with Building Manager and 3rd party services to repair and maintain building and equipment as needed, including preventative maintenance scheduling.
5. Work closely with Quality Manager to identify opportunities to improve processes and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity, as well as quality and safety.
6. Ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
7. Ensure that customer service levels are maintained by monitoring order fulfillment, accuracy and on time shipments.
8. Ensure coverage with respect to vacations, sick days, and other time off allowances.
9. Monitor associate attendance and performance.
10. Work with HR to ensure coordination of employee engagement is met.
11. Work with IT department to ensure technology needs are met.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

What You’ll Need:

1. Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, industrial distribution or related field. Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering highly preferred. 5 years’ experience in shipping and logistics, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role preferred.
2. Strong organizational and communication skills.
3. Knowledge of shipping procedures and regulations, including international shipping regulations.
4. Ability to manage a team of employees while maintaining a culture of mutual respect and open communication.  Must have good conflict resolution skills.
5. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
