Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor-s degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in operations research, data analysis, or modeling
- Proficiency in mathematical modeling and optimization techniques
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or Matlab
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as SAS or SPSS
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, especially within military settings
Desired Skills
- Master's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience working with military clients or within a military environment, particularly with the U.S. Marine Corps
- Familiarity with U.S. Marine Corps systems and processes, including Modeling - Simulation (M-S) tools
- Experience with military operations and logistics
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Advanced knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior analysts in a technical capacity
Description
Join our team as an Operations Research Analyst and play a pivotal role in supporting the U.S. Marine Corps- mission by providing analytical expertise that drives decision-making at the highest levels.
- Collects, analyzes, and synthesizes data from multiple sources to support Marine Corps decision-making processes
- Develops and implements advanced simulations, mathematical models, and algorithms to predict outcomes and optimize resource allocation for U.S. Marine Corps operations
- Provides actionable recommendations based on data analysis to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of U.S. Marine Corps operations
- Collaborates closely with other analysts, developers, modelers, uniformed leadership, and M-S experts to develop strategies that improve operational outcomes and support the U.S. Marine Corps M-S community-s objectives
- Conducts in-depth performance evaluations of U.S. Marine Corps systems, processes, and equipment, ensuring alignment with mission-critical goals
- Maintains and enhances databases to support ongoing data analysis and modeling efforts
- Prepares and delivers comprehensive reports and presentations to U.S. Marine Corps leadership, clearly communicating findings and recommendations
- Stays abreast of emerging trends and advancements in Operations Research and M-S to ensure the U.S. Marine Corps benefits from the latest innovations in these fields
