Job Summary and Qualifications
The Spine Coordinator works on service line improvement, works with the Director to maintain Joint Commission certifications, collaboration for comprehensive care and marketing to the community and leading the education efforts.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop long and short term strategies to improve Spine service line.
- Work with hospital leadership to grow services and show year over year growth.
- Improve attendance to surgery Pre-Op classes.
- Teaching of Pre-Op and Discharge classes
- Visit patients the day of surgery.
- Perform discharge follow up calls with patients to address any questions or concerns.
- Lead preparations efforts to ensure joint commission certification of.
- Coordinate program with CMS/Insurance requirements.
- Physician education regarding CMS/Insurance requirements.
- Post-Acute Care provider coordination/collaboration/relations.
- Patient navigation post-acute care.
- Lead community education classes for Spine programs.
- Work with HCA Physician and Provider Relations team to increase awareness of the programs with physicians in the community
- Work with marketing team to created awareness through healthy conversations and other sources like H2U.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) – American Red Cross or American Heart Association required
- Associate Degree of Nursing from an accredited organization required
- Minimum of 5 years in acute care hospital or equivalent business development experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing from an accredited organization preferred
- Candidates with clinical and patient education experience preferred.
