Journeyman Outside Machinist
Job Description:
+ Installing, maintaining, and repairing ship's propulsion and auxiliary systems including, but not limited to Steam, Gas Turbine, and Diesel propulsion systems, rudders and steering gear, elevators, and deck equipment without supervision.
+ Installation, repair, and maintenance of ship's fluid systems such as pumps, compressors, purifiers, heat exchangers, actuators and valves.
+ Testing equipment to ensure systems meet 4E specifications, references and drawings.
Required Skills:
+ Installation, repair, and maintenance of ship's propulsion and auxiliary systems
+ Working with ship's fluid systems
+ Working with marine engines, outboard motors and related marine equipment
+ Preventive maintenance of marine engines and related equipment
+ Repair and maintenance of hydraulic equipment and valves
+ Operation of hand and power tools associated with marine engine and equipment repair
Experience Level:
+ Intermediate level
