Serves as an account manager for existing and prospective customers by managing relationships and ensuring a high level of dealer support for a diverse range of customer types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Conduct daily sales calls by phone and physical visit.
- Identify new business opportunities within current customer list and solicitation of new accounts.
- Communicate parts orders to counter staff to ensure the proper level of order urgency and delivery instructions.
- Deliver or pick up parts as needed
OTHER DUTIES
- Track personal sales growth and goal achievement.
- Participate in weekly sales calls.
- Actively dispatch monthly marketing material and sales promotions.
- Investigate and report the actions of competitors in the sales region.
- Monitor market conditions through customer relationship management.
- Checks with customers to ensure that the delivery date of non-stock items is acceptable before ordering.
- Reviews any special orders with the parts manager and obtains his/her approval.
- Work with parts management to negotiate and manage customer discounts.
- Follows up on parts orders to ensure that customers have been served properly.
- Coordinate service work with service support staff.
- Turns in completed call reports and expense reports to management.
- Regularly update customer records to reflect changes to customers' names, addresses, etc.
- Adds new customers to appropriate mailing lists.
- Attends training seminars and local customer events when possible.
- Acts as a public relations liaison for the dealership.
- Maintains a professional appearance.

COMPENSATION
$75,000 - $125,000 (Salary + Commission Plan)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Prior experience preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Bachelors (B.A.) level of education preferred but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid driver’s license
