About the Job
SUMMARY: Responsibilities include oversight, supervision and management of ARMS Rapid Care Pharmacy, including supervision of pharmacy personnel, oversight of day-to-day operations, and dispensing of medications according to ARMS policy and Alabama state laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Management and supervision of pharmacy in accordance with ARMS policy and state laws and regulation.
2. Provide 40 hours of pharmacist coverage Monday through Friday between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm as needed.
3. Provide supervision and training for Pharmacy Technician and PRN Pharmacy Technicians(s).
4. Responsible for approval of timesheets and leave requests Pharmacy Technician and PRN Pharmacy Technicians(s).
5. Assurance of compliance to applicable pharmacy, federal and state laws and regulations.
6. Adhere to all Joint Commission standards/protocols as they relate to the pharmacy and organizational standards.
7. Provide empathetic patient care that complies with organization's normal business practices.
8. Production of prescription fees, schedule and pricing of Pharmaceuticals that will facilitate an optimal opportunity to attain revenue projections.
9. Make recommendations to the COO concerning board approved budgets that will assist organization in achieving their financial and patient access goals and objectives
10. Review pharmacy related expense/invoices for accuracy prior to payment by organization finance department.
11. Assurance that current pharmacy computer system is using applications that compliment organization's operational and financial needs.
12. Pursue business development opportunities that will increase the pharmacy department's revenues, with prior approval from COO
13. Review, design and engage systems that will afford organization to capture
Prescriptions from all organization locations, including satellite clinics.
14. Review pharmacy trends for changes and /or fluctuations that reflect the prescribing patterns of providers, and, when affordable and sensible within the 340b pharmacy program, will serve to improve pharmacy revenues.
15. Establishment of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P &T) Committee.
16. Establish, supervise, monitor and report on the Indigent Patient Prescription Program.
17. Facilitate relevant pharmacy education events for patients, providers and staff as approved by the COO.
18. Abide by COO time line to accomplish tasks previously mentioned.
19. Provide summary reports to the COO weekly.
20. Develop annual marketing plans and present them to the COO for approval.
21. Discard expired medicines throughout the organization according to agency expectations and protocols.
22. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
BS/BA in field of pharmaceuticals, as well as licensed by the state of Alabama, with at least five years' experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Should have advanced knowledge of pharmaceutical dispensing and pharmacy operations. Standard and advanced computer and software skills are mandatory. Must put forth a well-manned image and able to respond to patient needs in professional and sensitive manner. Should work well with others and be self-motivated. Must be able to follow instructions well and be efficient and responsible.
