PLANT SUPERVISOR - CNC Machining
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the efficient operation of plant on 2nd shift for all departments; oversee all 2nd shift CNC Operators plant operations on 2nd shift. Must be able to communicate effectively to all operators, give instruction as needed including handling of disciplinary actions. Monitor and oversee production to ensure company’s customer service and quality remain priority.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible to follow and ensure employees follow safety and training guidelines.
- Ensure quality and production time remain on track
- Maintain 2nd shift schedule and job assignments everyday
- Collaborate with marketing, sales and supervisors to ensure customer needs and deadlines are met
- Add or reduce hourly labor and support staff as necessary to meet the production forecasts. The rates and overhead personnel shall be maintained in-balance to assure a profitable operation
- Communicate hiring needs as needed
- Oversees employee performance including disciplinary action (discipline in conjunction with HR)
- Supports manufacturing and development manufacturing activities, including as needed assignments of personnel
- Ensure all necessary maintenance is performed in a timely manner
- Interact closely with Manufacturing customers to understand needs and concerns
- Participating in new product production planning and design reviews accept or reject transfer as production ready
- Ensures compliance of, and adherence to, internal procedures and processes; maintains company quality standards
- Ensures that targets for productivity are established and maintained
- Makes recommendations and supports projects to improve the operations with regards to quality, efficiency, and delivery
- Manages the Production Supervisors as they oversee the growth and development of the direct manufacturing workforce
- Monitor operational efficiency in key areas of Quality, Safety, Attendance, Productivity, and Scrap
- Manages training and appraisals of all manufacturing personnel
MINIMUM SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:
- Proven leader that can embrace and promote change in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse group and knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
- Understanding of business financial metrics and practices related to operational labor and materials
- BS degree, preferably in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience Supervisory experience
- 5-10 years or more in a leadership role within a CNC manufacturing environment
