The CENTERS team is innovative, entrepreneurial, trail-blazing, and ambitious for both CENTERS and our clients. Today, CENTERS provides management services for 14 clients.
Responsibilities
Group Fitness Instructors will design and teach fitness workouts to a group of participants with a variety of fitness levels and abilities. Instructors should act as a fitness resource for participants and connect participants to other programs and services.
This position will work on-site at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Sonnentag Center, a major athletic, recreation, and event center, set to open summer of 2024. The new Sonnentag Center will serve as a venue for university and community events, concerts, and home to Eau Claire Men’s and Women’s Athletics.
- Safely instruct an effective, creative group fitness classes
- Demonstrate proper exercise form and educates participants on form and alternative exercises during class
- Provide quality customer service to all participants in class, regardless of fitness level, appearance, or otherwise
- Ensure studios are set up before and cleaned up after class
- Communicate effectively with supervisor
- Follow and enforce all program and facility policies
- Respond and assist as needed during emergencies
- Attend staff meetings, in-services, and trainings
- Promote fitness programs and services
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
Current ACE, AFAA, ACSM certification
Specialty certifications are required to teach specialty classes such as yoga, group cycling, pilates, etc. It is preferred that all candidates have a primary group exercise certification AND specialty cert. Exceptions will be on a case-by-case basis based on a variety of factors.

- Must be able to perform fitness activity for duration of class which may include, but not limited to, standing, walking, dancing, lifiting, kneeing
- Must be able to lift, move and set up items weighing 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform exercises for the specific class, set up and adjust fitness equipmentMust be able to discuss, converse with, and exchange accurate information with arena patrons, staff, stakeholders, etc.
