We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our team. This role requires a dedicated professional with at least 4 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting, editing, and maintaining legal documents, as well as supporting trial preparation and conducting factual research. This is a non-remote position.
Responsibilities for the Paralegal:
- Draft and edit discovery and related legal documents
- Set up and maintain files
- Proofread work for content, accuracy of copy, format, grammar, punctuation, and syntax
- Acquire, review, summarize, and index case documents
- Monitor case calendars
- Communicate orally and in writing with clients and other contacts
- Conduct factual (and limited legal) research
- Prepare for trial, including the compilation of notebooks and exhibits
Qualifications for the Paralegal:
- Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience
- Experience in requesting medical records and preparing in-depth medical summaries
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective interaction skills
- In-depth understanding of legal terms and NM court rules & procedures
- Ability to gather appropriate information associated with active cases, including seeking witnesses, planning pleadings, and acquiring affidavits
- Excellent proofreading and word processing abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Document Management Software is a plus
Compensation for the Paralegal: $30 - $34 per hour (DOE)
Location: Downtown Albuquerque.
(NON REMOTE)/ Contract to Hire
Monday to Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
