The Role We Want You For
We are a leading construction company, looking for a Paralegal - Contract Administration Assistant to support our legal and contracts team. Experience with real estate construction prime contracts, subcontracts, AIA Forms, purchase orders, lien waivers and releases and related legal and corporate commercial tasks. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace. Professional aptitude and ability to assist with all matters related to construction contract administration.
This role will involve working with the AI-enhanced Contract Lifecycle Management platform (IntelAgree) to streamline workflows; assist with litigation support, subpoena document production, and tracking liens. A motivated individual with an aptitude for technology and legal contract administration will excel in this role.
The Specifics of the Role
- Contract Administration: Assist with AI contract software for the preparation of construction contract terms and conditions summaries; and provide related support to the AI Software IntelAgree platform for contract management.
- Tracking Liens: Review, research, and respond to lien claims against project sites or real estate by subcontractors and suppliers; data entry of liens/releases to Lien database and status updates.
- Litigation Support: Assist with litigation documentation, including reviewing and preparing responses to third party subpoenas and discovery requests.
- Document Preparation: Draft cover letters, status reports, and internal and external emails related to subpoenas, and discovery requests.
- Database Management: Maintain and update legal databases with current information on the status of pending matters, including the preparation of litigation status reports.
- General Legal Assistance: Support the General Counsel and Senior Paralegal with litigation matters and document management.
- Box Folder Management: Organize and manage Box folders to ensure easy access to legal documentation and File sharing protocol.
- Research: Use Westlaw or similar platforms for research and perform special research projects as assigned.
- Collaboration & Workflow: Partner with internal departments to adapt to workflows and enhance processes with AI tools as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- Paralegal Certification(preferred)
- 1-2 years paralegal experience preferably in construction or contract-related fields
- Understanding of construction, material supplier subcontracts, AIA form contracts, and purchase orders.
- Administrative experience
- Motivated, hardworking, team player willing to learn new software and technology administration skills
- Strong technology skills and familiarity with basic software programs (Microsoft, Excel, Adobe Pro, Etc.).
- Tech-savvy: Eager to learn new platforms like IntelAgree and other AI-powered tools.
