Shift: 0700-1900, 1900-0700, rotating weekends and holidays

Summary:
Provides Advanced Life Support in a prompt, resourceful, and efficient manner. Responsible for maintaining compliance with Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) requirements and all associated documentation. Demonstrates age-specific competencies in the care of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school aged, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Operates under the direction of the Metro Life Flight Medical Director and protocols set forth by The Metro Health System (MHS). Complies with the policies and procedures of MHS. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of the MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Current Ohio certification as an EMT-Paramedic. Successfully completed the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC), or successfully completes within 3 months of hire. Minimum one year of experience as an active paramedic in an EMS service or hospital ED. Current and valid Ohio Driver's License and obtain and maintain eligibility of insurability as determined by MetroHealth System insurance carrier's requirements to operate MetroHealth vehicles. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the AHA, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS). Must attain a score equal to or greater than 70% in the clinical knowledge testing portion of the interview process. Successful completion of Intermediate EKG test during the interview process. Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak both assertively and sensitively to a variety of populations in stressful situations. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Emergency room experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center.
