About the Position
Hamilton Capital is seeking a dynamic professional to add to our Wealth Management Team. The Paraplanner is the foundational role in our Advisory track and is instrumental in building a career as a Financial Advisor. The individual in this role learns and fulfills a combination of the responsibilities of two key roles at our firm: Client Relations Representative and Associate Financial Advisor. A paraplanner first supports the team by providing exceptional service while assisting new and existing clients with establishment of new accounts, account transfers, and account service needs. While continuing to serve clients in that capacity, the Paraplanner also prepares for and memorializes client meetings, inputs data into and maintains our financial planning software, gathers data from clients, drafts comprehensive financial plans, and completes other activities to support our advisors and clients.

Primary Position Responsibilities
- Obtains notary within 6 months of starting position.
- Obtains Series 65 within 12 months of starting in the position.
- Recommended and encouraged to pursue CFP certification in 2nd year of role.
- Establishes new accounts/facilitates account transfers from various custodians.
- Properly processes and tracks account contributions and distributions.
- Interacts with clients, colleagues, custodians, and external professional advisors to provide exceptional service.
- Prepares organized and well-written correspondence to clients, firm members, custodians, and other contacts.
- Becomes an expert user of our financial planning software, CRM, and portfolio management system as appropriate for the position and provides system support to Financial Advisors and their clients.
- Takes detailed notes during client meetings to capture important discussion items and action steps. Utilizes CRM to document, communicate with team members, and organize next steps with client.
- Gathers, organizes, and synthesizes client data for input into financial planning software. This includes reviewing client financial documents, such as account statements, insurance documents, tax returns, and estate planning documents, to obtain the necessary information to prepare financial statements and draft comprehensive financial plans under Financial Advisor supervision.
- Properly documents all client activities, communications, and work.
- Conducts research as appropriate in support of the Financial Advisor.
- Supports team members by assisting with additional duties, as needed.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required with an emphasis in financial planning, communications, or business preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of successful work or internship experience required, with specific experience in customer service, wealth management, accounting, finance, or a related field in a supporting capacity preferred.
- Organized, self-motivated, with initiative and desire to learn, grow and succeed.
- High level of accuracy and diligence.
- Strong oral and written communication skills required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and aptitude to learn specialized, industry specific software programs.
