Responsibilities
+ Monitors surveillance cameras and equipment.
+ Accesses control systems, fire alarms, intrusion detection systems and other protective equipment/systems.
+ Monitors and logs radio transmissions using call signs.
+ Answers the telephone, takes messages.
+ Maintains Duty Log in legible manner.
+ Dispatches and/or notifies Security Guards of all unusual activity.
+ Reports and documents same, summons resources and coordinates emergency personnel responding to emergencies and document same.
Qualifications
+ Must be US Citizen.
+ All personnel must be able to pass a favorably single scope background investigation (SSBI) prior to commencing work.
+ All Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment medical exam to include drug screening.
+ Be in possession of a valid Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration.
+ Be at least 21 years of age.
+ Possess either a high school diploma or a GED equivalency certificate.
+ Be able to speak English fluently, read and comprehend written English, and compose coherent written reports in English.
+ Be in possession of a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in his/her state of residence.
+ Additionally, applicants for Alarm Monitor must meet the criteria set forth in sub section 1.
Sub Section 1:
+ Shall have a minimum of 1 year experience in basic law enforcement, emergency dispatch, or related field.
+ Shall have the ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
+ Communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing, maintain records and prepare reports.
+ Work independently with little direction.
+ Maintain professional communication with local law enforcement agencies and fire departments.
+ Respond to emergency situations in a calm and effective manner and provide training to other Alarm Monitors to perform the essential functions of the job.
+ Utilize criminal justice databases provided by the Government to assist in the vetting of visitors and short-term contractors.
