Canine Care Assistant

Central Bark Philadelphia is currently accepting applications for Canine Care Assistant roles from candidates who are interested in part-time hours during the week. The ideal candidate has a passion for dogs and wants to learn more about dog behavior, handling, and care. 

Central Bark Philadelphia has been open since 2007 and operates 365 days a year: employees work in all types of weather. Your responsibilities will be providing 1-on-1 care, leading small daycare groups in engaging, enriching activities, and facility cleaning. You will help ensure the care provided is in a safe, clean, and healthy environment for dogs, both physically and mentally.

Shifts we are hiring for are as follows: Monday through Friday (7:30am to 12:30pm)

Our on-the-job training consists of side-by-side shadowing with an experienced handler and the completion of online courses developed by industry-leading consultants that you will be required to successfully pass.  

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• A passion for dogs.
• Prior dog handling experience is preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Current Tetanus vaccination.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic computer understanding of windows-based applications.
