Peninsula Cleaning Services Inc., a leading Hampton Roads commercial cleaning service company is looking for a part-time Floor Technician to work a flexible schedule to include: am-pm shifts, mornings, evenings, and/or overnight. Must have minimum of 5 years previous floor maintenance experience, valid driver's license, and acceptable background.
Candidates should have general knowledge of the following task:
• Wax floors, operates buffing machine, and floor equipment.
• Spotting, extracting, and general maintaining of carpet and upholstered surfaces.
• Strip, clean, buff, apply floor sealer, and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager/Site Supervisor or next level of management.

Job Summary:
Responsible for floor care, carpet cleaning, and light cleaning in all areas of the building to include sweeping, dusting, mopping, wiping, and emptying trash.
Essential Functions:
• Locks and unlocks doors; activates and deactivates alarm systems.
• Wax floors, operates buffing machine, and floor equipment.
• Spotting, extracting, and general maintaining of carpet and upholstered surfaces.
• Strip, clean, buff, apply floor sealer, and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis.
• Assist with inventory control and security.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in good working order and properly store when not in use.
• May make minor repairs to equipment and furniture as needed.
• Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager/Site Supervisor or next level of management.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required):
• Method of maintaining, cleaning, and preserving a variety of surfaces; proper use of a wide range of chemicals according to established policies and regulated guidelines.
• Handling and disposing of hazardous materials and blood borne pathogens with care. Read and understand the safety requirements as outlined for all cleaning products as displayed on MSDS sheets.
• Ability to follow safety precautions to avoid injuries of minor cuts, falls, bruises, burns, and scalds.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to stand for extended periods; exhibit manual dexterity to use cleaning equipment; to see and read printed material with or without vision aids; speak in audible tones, so that others may understand clearly; physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; to climb ladders, bend, stoop, walk, and reach overhead; ability to be exposed occasionally to fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, and exposure to high noise levels
