The Golden Age is a cocktail bar and restaurant located in Dupont Circle. We pride ourselves on a tireless dedication to providing the highest quality food, drinks, and hospitality. Our small staff is a collection of dedicated industry professionals, and we are looking for another cook to join our team.
We operate on a tip pool for all hourly employees, so your take home will be even more than your base hourly, and as the restaurant continues to grow and mature, that number will only go up. Health and dental insurance are available for full time employees. We are a growing company, currently with three concepts. Cook Job Description
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 1 year of high volume or fine dining line cook experience
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop techniques in cooking, preparation, and
- presentation
- Ability to entertain and thrill guests
- Positive demeanor for guests and fellow staff
- Enjoys learning and refining food and beverage knowledge
- Good task and time management, ability to attend to many small tasks effectively
- and quickly
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate in a bi-lingual kitchen
- Must be able to stand up to 12 hours and lift up to 50 pounds
- Kitchen ServSafe certificate preferred, must be willing to pursue certificate with
- reimbursement possible upon completion
Job Responsibilities
- Assist kitchen manager and chef with expediting food
- Cook and prepare food for guests according to company standards
- Assist bar and floor staff with addressing guest needs and orders when needed
- Kitchen is open until 1am or 2am; must be able to work late
- Work with kitchen manager and chef to understand menu and offerings
- Alerts Kitchen Manager and Chef du Cuisine to supply needs related to
- service/service station
- Maintains safe working environment and reports any safety issues to management
- immediately
- Projects a positive image of the organization to team members and guests
- Performs other service related duties as assigned
