We are currently seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team as a part-time Center Physician. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in upholding the highest standards of donor care, ensuring donor safety, and overseeing the medical operations of the plasma center. Additionally, you will serve as the Laboratory Director, ensuring compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulatory requirements.

This part-time position requires 4-6 hours per week at the collection center and is not eligible for company benefits. The ideal candidate will share our mission to make a significant impact on global healthcare and save lives through the collection of rare donor human plasma.
Key Accountabilities
- Review all donor adverse reaction documentation and provide appropriate medical guidance and intervention when necessary.
- Review serum protein electrophoresis (SPE) results and evaluate all medical communications, Primary Care Physicians (PCP) letters for acceptability.
- Serve as the Laboratory Director and oversee all medical aspects of the facility's CLIA laboratory environment.
- Conduct agreed upon weekly center site visits.
- Routinely observe Medical Screeners perform CLIA related screening or proficiency testing tasks.
- Routinely observe Physician Substitutes performing hands on physical exams and questionnaire reviews.
- Administer and/or oversee donor immunizations per company SOP's and regulatory requirements as needed.
- Be accessible to staff as needed by telephone, email, or in person for emergencies, donor suitability and immunization questions.
- Collaborate closely with the Physician Substitutes and the Center Quality Manager on complex medical scenarios.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect donor privacy throughout all aspects of the job.
- Follow organizational policies and procedures, including ethical guidelines and professional standards.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols throughout the collection process.
- Participate in ongoing medical team meetings, training, and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills and to stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes in collaboration with the Center Manager and Center Quality Manager.
- Maintain current Medical License.
- Adhere to all quality control procedures and assist with audits and inspections as required.
Qualifications
- Medical License as a D.O. or M.D. from an accredited institution required.
- Previous laboratory training or experience directing or supervising a non-waived laboratory setting is a plus.
- Certification in the American Board of Medical Microbiology, the American Board of Clinical Chemistry, the American Board of Bioanalysis, or the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology is a plus.
- Proficient computer skills for data entry and electronic record management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.

- Following strict protocols and procedures to ensure accuracy and minimize errors in blood collection and record-keeping.

- Working in a fast-paced environment that may require quick decision-making and efficient time management.
