Job Description Summary
This part-time temporary position will support the daily operation of the Ryan Hospital pharmacy by processing outpatient, inpatient and mail order prescriptions. Data entry, fulfillment, and quality assurance checks for prescription orders, as well as payment processing, is required. In-person consultation with doctors, nurses and students and phone consultation with clients occurs daily. Participation in inventory maintenance will be required, including processing of hospital department orders and stocking of supplies, unpacking shipments including medications, IV fluids and pet food.
Job Description
Responsibilities for this part-time temporary position will include:
+ Process submitted prescriptions: count pills, package, label and dispense medications; process charges/payments for medications dispensed
+ Process phone and e-mail medication orders
+ Check accuracy of prescriptions processed by other staff
+ Receive incoming supplies; verify stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records
+ Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of an Associate’s degree and 0-1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Must have o pen availability between the hours of 7am-7pm. Previous hospital experience including TPN, and Chemotherapy preparation and/or Certified Veterinary Technician is preferred. Previous compounding experience is also preferred.
