We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Parts Associate to join our team in an environmental equipment company. As a Parts Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the parts department by providing exceptional customer service, processing parts orders, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery. Your strong organizational skills, technical knowledge, and dedication to customer satisfaction will contribute to the overall success of our parts operations.
Responsibilities:
• Assist customers in identifying and selecting the appropriate parts for their specific needs, providing accurate and detailed product information, and recommending suitable alternatives when necessary.
• Process parts orders promptly and accurately, utilizing our inventory management system, to ensure timely fulfillment and delivery to customers.
• Maintain accurate records of parts transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the parts manager and other team members to ensure efficient inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and organizing parts within the warehouse or storage area.
• Perform regular inventory counts and reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective measures to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized parts department, ensuring that parts are properly labeled, stored, and easily accessible.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery information for parts not currently in stock, and communicate this information to customers promptly.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the parts ordering and delivery process.
• Collaborate with the sales team to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities, promoting additional parts and accessories to customers to increase sales revenue.
• Stay updated on product knowledge, industry trends, and technological advancements in environmental equipment parts to provide accurate and informed assistance to customers.
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical or vocational training in parts management or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in parts management, inventory control, or customer service, preferably in environmental equipment or related industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of environmental equipment and parts, including familiarity with various types of equipment, components, and their applications.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in processing orders, maintaining records, and managing inventory.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally, resolve issues, and build positive relationships with customers and team members.
- Proficient in using computer systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy parts as required, and willingness to work in a warehouse or storage area environment.
- A valid driver's license is preferred.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will sit; Occasionally will stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 50 pounds
- Work Environment: Occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts in warehouse
