About the Job
The clerk is responsible for ensuring that all information and consents are available in the patient chart, ensuring pathology results are given in a timely manner and that treatments are scheduled if necessary as directed from the provider.
• Ensure all of our patients are called with their biopsy results.
• Answer multi-phone lines.
• Schedule appointments for our multiple offices.
• Maintain a detailed record when speaking with a patient and ensure everything is marked/or uploaded in their chart.
• Checking and cross-referencing paper documents with electronic records
• Make copies of paperwork and pathology and scan documents into patient chart.
• Check and compare all documentation to make sure patient name, site names and date of birth is correct.
• Enter results in the Pathology Log and the Results Log.
• Ability to explain skin conditions in a clear and understanding matter.
• Make daily calls for pending skin cancers and abnormalities.
• Follow up with patients to ensure they receive treatment.
• Create and send out Final Notices as necessary.
• Assist our patients in any way we can by answering questions, giving results, finding information for them.
