About the Job
As the Patient Access Representative, you will performall tasks related to pre-registration and registration of patients in an efficient, accurate and professional manner to ensure that the patient, physician and hospital needs are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate registration and insurance verification, ensuring collection of all critical data elements necessary for proper patient identification for registration and billing.
- Communicate in a professional, positive and respectful manner with patients and offices and provide consistent excellent customer service in a variety of situations.
- Complies with point-of-service cash collections, balancing, batching, and depositing in accordance with Hospital policies.
- Review error reports provided and correct errors before end of shift.
- Manage all incoming calls into the department and distribute them as necessary.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Required:
- High School diploma
- Computer and typing experience
- Customer service skills
Preferred:
- Prior experience working directly with the public in a healthcare patient access environment.
- Prior knowledge of third-party insurance and medical terminology.
- English/Spanish bilingual is preferred
