Summary:
Performs access functions for all patients presenting for services.
Responsibilities:
Communicates with physicians' and their staff, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information.
Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-certification/authorization as necessary
Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing and clinical information is obtained and entered with timeliness and accuracy.
Determines and accepts required payments, including but not limited to co-pays and deductibles.

Required to type 35 wpm. Required Work Experience: No prior work experience required. Other Information: Proficient in basic computer skills and customer service experience preferred.
