Responsibilities Job Description
This position is responsible for completing the financial clearance process within Patient Access and creating the first impression of Fairview's services to patients and families and other external customers. The Patient Access Services (PAS) Representative must be able to articulate information in a manner that patients, guarantors and family members understand and so they know what to expect and have an understanding of their financial responsibilities. The PAS Representative will be responsible for completing the pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, as well as interviewing patients and guarantors to obtain insurance information and verifying eligibility. The PAS representative will also work with medical staff, nursing, ancillary departments, and insurance payors.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: 1 to 2 years customer service experience in a healthcare or related setting with excellent communication skills and good computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications: 1 year of admitting experience and/or health insurance experience. Experience with automated patient account system and basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet applications and Internet.
