Patient Financial Service Representative - Fairview Health Services

Fairview Health Services has an opportunity for a Patient Financial Service Representative! This role is approved for 80 hours every two weeks, and is benefit eligible. This position supports management in the billing and collection of accounts receivable for inpatient and outpatient accounts and/or resolving complex customer service issues.  We seek individuals who understand the revenue cycle and the importance of evaluating and securing all appropriate financial resources for patients to maximize reimbursement to the health system.  This includes all revenue cycle processes: Insurance verification, acquiring prior authorizations, billing, claim follow up and denial management. 

• Understand revenue cycle responsibilities, insurance benefits, insurance verification and billing patient's insurance timely following all payer policies/guidelines
• Perform timely follow up to ensure maximum reimbursement for services
• Work complex accounts, including insurance denials and appeal when necessary
• Accept incoming inquiries from patients and insurance companies regarding benefits and billing questions
• Ability to work with and communicate with clinical staff, patients, insurance companies and any others involved in the treatment plan

Required

• 3-5 years in an office clerical setting, of which 1 year should be in a hospital or clinic business office

Preferred

• 2 years in a hospital or clinic business office
